How Graftpassage is paid, and what it turned down
Graftpassage currently carries no affiliate links and earns nothing from any clinic, agency or product. This page sets out the rules we would keep if that changed, and the offers we have already refused.
Graftpassage has no affiliate links today. No clinic, agency, booking platform or product company pays us, and nothing on the site is placed because someone paid for it. We publish this page anyway, because a site about paying for surgery should say plainly how it is funded, and because the offers we refused tell you as much about us as the ones we might accept.
Why there are no links on this site
The money in hair transplants abroad is mostly in patient referrals: clinics pay a fee when someone they were sent to has surgery. Taking such a fee would pay us to send you to one clinic, which is the opposite of what our guides tell you to do: check any clinic yourself, on official registers, with the answers in writing. So we take none.
We also collect no enquiries. There is no quote form on this site, and we never pass your details to anyone. Where a guide covers "how to get quotes", it tells you how to ask clinics directly and compare their written replies.
The rules any future link would follow
If Graftpassage ever carries a partner link, it will follow these rules, and this page will be updated before the first link appears.
- Every partner link will go through a /go/ address on this site and be marked sponsored and nofollow, so search engines and readers can both tell it apart.
- A short disclosure will sit next to every partner link, on the page where it appears, not only here.
- No partner link will sit inside a safety checklist, a list of vetting steps or a clinical warning.
- Payment will never decide what a page says, and a free or cheaper option will still be named where it is the honest answer, with a note that it pays us nothing.
- We will not link to clinics, surgeons or agencies that pay per patient, whatever the fee.
Offers we refused
These are the kinds of offers open to a site like this one, and we declined each of them. We list them so that the refusal is on the record and cannot be quietly reversed.
- Clinic and agency referral fees for patients sent to surgery abroad, including a multi-country clinic network with an open partner portal, because we have not vetted its clinics and our own guides tell readers not to trust a clinic they have not checked.
- Medical-tourism facilitators and booking platforms, including those whose income comes from clinics, because a site that tells you to check a clinic yourself should not earn from a middleman that books it for you.
- Ambassador schemes that advertise large personal earnings from referring patients to clinics in Turkey.
- ClickBank and Digistore24 hair-loss offers, which are information products and supplements with aggressive claims.
- HealthTrader, a network of pharmacy-style offers, because selling medicines by affiliate link has no place on a surgery safety guide.
- Bosley, whose affiliate programme is closed.
What pays us nothing, and we recommend anyway
The most useful steps in our guides earn us nothing, and we say so on every page where they appear: a GP or dermatologist appointment at home before any surgery, the official registers of doctors and facilities in each country, the ISHRS "Find a Doctor" search, and the government travel and health guidance we quote.
